Rosemary's Thoughts

The Power Of Prayer

Most of us have prayed out of convenience without realizing the power our prayers have. It does take discipline but it's necessary. That's why we must pray without ceasing and always give thanks. 1Thes 5:17,18

Is prayer a daily discipline for you, or do you mainly pray when you're in trouble? To pray regularlyyou have to be disciplined. Unfortunately, most people are inconsistent when it comes to prayer. I know that I am. But I am choosing to change that today!

Prayer is a powerful tool for communicating with God. It's an opportunity for us to find a moment of peace with Him as well as strength for the day andhope for tomorrow. Yet because we are busy people living in a fast paced demanding world, we don't take the time we need to be with God. People, all were doing is robbing ourselves of precious moments with Him.

Prayer has the power to change our lives and that's what should make it a priority for us.Imean, has anybody watched the news lately? Between the shot economy, war, crime, and natural disasters to name a few we should all be on our hands and knees. We cannot afford to seek God only in time of need; we must always be in constant communication with Him. When you do you'll sense His peace, you'll gain His perspective, and you'll receive His power.

Ephesians 6:18-Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. Pray anytime there's an opportunity- no matter where you are or what you're doing. Use every occasion and every possible moment to pray...

How is your prayer life?

My Prayer Life

I know what you mean Rosemary, I'm not the "prayer warrior" so it's help me to keep a journal. I pray as I write... but you know, that's just me :)

The Power of Prayer...

Rosemary, you explain the power and need for prayer very well. And although I agree with you, I think people also need to DO more to help themselves and stop being so lazy in their life.

We all know the type of people I'm talking about, it might even be one of us sometimes. The people who pray for a better world for their children, yet drive a Hummer while tossing the Burger King bag out the window.or pray for peace, yet step on everyone who gets in their way in life. And let's not forget my favorite examples, those who sit in Church like sheep just repeating prayers they think are fulfilling the "minimum requirements" to "be a Christian" or the "Pastor" who prayers for us to do the right thing and find God while he cashes the tithe checks to pay for his Mustang.

In my humble opinion, we need to pray for His guiding light, His wisdom, His love.and WORK to accomplish God's Will reveled through prayer. How's that for a concept, stop asking for God to bless us with our latest demand of Him. How about we put forth the effort to show God that we can do great things (read Matthew 25.14 - 25.30 and Luke 19.11 - 19.27) with the blessings we already have and most important, we're not too lazy to work for the things that are most important to us.

To be even more honest.I'm so tired of the lazy Christian. The one who tells me how God "gives" them so much or they have to "accept" what they have because that's what God gave them. You know these people.the blessed and highly favored preachers. How about you take your real blessings (like your hands, feet, and mind), put them to good use and help God deliver His Will for all.

For those of you with kids reading this post, imagine how you would feel if your kids just laid around all day demanding you grant their request because they are your children and "need" things. Sounds depressing doesn't it?? Truth is.you would never grant them a single thing, you'd call them lazy and you would kick them in the backside while telling them to get up and work for what they want. My question to you is.are you LISTENING to God's answer during your prayer??
