SAY WHAT??
By M. Gomez
"No one would talk much in society if they knew how often they misunderstood others". -Von Goethe
Failure to communicate can be the cause of many problems. Effective communication occurs only if the receiver understands the exact information or idea the sender intended to transmit.
Sometimes communication is affected due to human frailty:
Heb. 5:11 "We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn."
We take it one day at a time, trying to explain, listen and understand. Knowing that sometimes it takes a while but true friendships have all the time in the world. At least this is how I think and what I feel about friendship.
If at any time I have offended you by my thoughts or comments - don't shut me out - talk to me and help me understand why you feel how you feel - after all that's what Jesus calls us to do, and this is what friendships are made of COMMUNICATION :)

Listening

Mayra,
I agree that communication is the cause of many problems. Just as important is listening when someone does try to communicate. We can get caught up in trying to communicate what we want to get across that we don't listen to what someone's trying to say. There can be a lot of dialogue going back and forth but no listening which can be worse. That's where understanding comes in or at least the benefit of the doubt. James 1:19 'swift to hear, slow to speak and slow to wrath' I think most of us need work on this. Good thought.

Good point. But do we really have "all the time in the world"? Today is all we have for sure...tomorrow is not guaranteed...so like we have many times heard..."don't leave for tomorrow what you can do today"...forgive today...love today...talk today...say what you need to say today...connect today...open yourself up for love today...True friendship also values today likes its the last day we have...knowing that tomorrow may be too late.
A lesson learned sometimes through much pain and sorrow, nevertheless, learned and valued.

Thanks Floridasong for your comment. I know we don't have all the time in the world. Tomorrow is not promised. What I meant by true friendships having all the time in the world is that sometimes friendships take time, even time to develop into true friendships. We all make mistakes and we are not perfect. It takes time to heal, to love, to forgive even to talk. If we are not willing to make or take the time for these things then what happens to the friendship?
I agree that we shouldn't leave for tomorrow what we could do today, but there are things in life that can't be rushed.
